Exterior and interior looks of the
Chevrolet Beat- Diesel is similar to the
petrol Beat, and has a modern and aggressive design and is targeted at
the younger generation. Launched in
India in July 2011 the diesel Beat has an efficient engine developed in
Bangalore with expertise from GM Europe. The XDSE Smartech diesel engine, which
the company dubbed as Perfect; P for Performance, E for EPS, R for Refinement,
FE for Fuel economy, C for Cost of ownership and T for Technology. The 1L 3
cylinder smartech engine is developed from the 4 cylinder 1.3 L MultiJet, which
is co-developed by GM and Fiat, sans one cylinder. GM offers 3yrs/1 Lakh kms
Engine warranty as standard. The Beat diesel is available in four variants- PS,
LS, LT and LT Option.
